3. The Love Club EP (2013)

“I heard “Royals” on the radio before I got this EP. I knew I was in for a Interesting Sound when I got it, but I wasn’t Fully Prepared for the Full Coolness of the sound I was about to Experience. Bravado- Wonderful Opener to the Album. Nice and Laid Back. Royals- Fun, Cool, and just all around Wonderful Song. Million Dollar Bills- Nice Driving Beat. The Love Club- Kind of In Between Driving Beat and Laid Back. A Good Combination for the Album. The last Song is one of my Favorites on the EP Ranking right up there with Royals, but for a Different Reason.”

2. Pure Heroine (2013)

“This 2013 album “Pure Heroine” was an astonishing debut. It received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album, and the gigantic hit single “Royals” won for Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Lorde clearly made an impression. She has a pretty voice, clear and compelling, and on most tracks there are layers of her harmonized vocals. The tracks have a consistent sound. The production is pretty stripped-down. Most tracks have a background of atmospheric synths, accompanied by creative individual synth sounds adding highlights to different tracks.”

1. Melodrama (2017)

“This is an incredible album. Lorde sets up the album spectacularly with Green Light. This is a story about a young girl who realizes her relationship is doomed and she knows she needs to move beyond it. It tells the story with both specificity to Lorde and the life she lives, being Lorde but more importantly translates into others still finding themselves in the lyrics and empathize and emote along with Lorde. This is an album with fantastic production. A lot has already been said about The Louvre, but this track in particular stands out with Flume’s masterful production creating a sonic temple to the sounds that dominate not only radio currently while simultaneously sounding futuristic.”
