Nice Boat embrace grit and restlessness on ‘Everybody’s Bored’

Nice Boat offer one final introduction to their stripped-back world with ‘Everybody’s Bored’, the last single ahead of debut album I DON’T HAVE THE BANDWIDTH.

The track races forward on an uptempo bassline, sparse handclaps and conversational talk-singing, all wrapped in a wonderfully gritty DIY production. It’s deliberately lean, reflecting the band’s preference for building songs around live beats, bass and vocals rather than filling every available space.

The song itself emerged from the creative back-and-forth between Dylan Silver and Mike Thrasher, who exchanged lyrics, ideas and MP3 clips while writing. That conversational process eventually became part of ‘Everybody’s Bored’ itself, with the track exploring both the frustration of seeing boredom in someone else’s eyes and a wider irritation with the idea of boredom altogether.

The debut album arrives September 25 via Slouch Records, promising an intriguing collision of scrappy experimentation, humour and raw DIY energy.
