On a Day Like Today Songs Ranked

On a Day Like Today is the eighth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams, released on October 27, 1998. On a Day Like Today was a success around the world, peaking at number three in Canada, and number eleven in the UK. However, at the time in the U.S. market, it became the first of Adams’ albums since 1983’s Cuts Like a Knife not to obtain a platinum sales certification. According to AllMusic, the record company didn’t do a lot of advertising for album, as Adams and this album got caught when his record company sold his recording contract to rap label Interscope, who in turn did very little in the USA to promote it. Here are all of On a Day Like Today songs ranked.

10. How Do Ya Feel Tonight

“What defines this CD, was the level of maturity and strong songwriting. Bryan really set the bar high for himself on this disc and he doesn’t disappoint. The album seamlessly blends a wonderful mixture of ballads, rock and roll, and mid tempo songs.”

9. C’mon C’mon C’mon

“What a voice. Bryan Adams has one of the most captivating voices I have known, and his songs are just as good. Because he writes most of them, his magic is put into them, and when you hear the song, you can sense that.”

6. Fearless

“Bryan Adams popularity was already going down hill before this release, this cd just helped it along. Not that this is a bad cd, it’s not, but it’s not a good cd either. Everything about this cd is ok. Nothing stands out, makes you want to go back and listen to again and again. “

5. When You’re Gone

“He still rocks as good and as hard as ever as ever, still has it and always will! This is Bryan Adams at his best .. great songs with a good mix of rockers and ballads. Mel C joins him on “When you’re gone” which got a lot of airplay.”

“Another ballad worth mentioning is “Where Angels Fear to Tread”, for which Bryan included string arrangements that match so well with certain songs of his. All in all, Bryan has again made an album that goes perfectly with his previous masterpieces and is going to have his fans crave for hearing the songs live!”

3. Inside Out

“The last song is mostly for the melody, but ‘Inside Out’ will remain in my top-10 songs for a long time: never have I heard such touching lyrics, where Bryan tells a girl he wants to know her inside out.”

2. On a Day Like Today

“Flash forward to the late 90’s, and Bryan quietly releases ‘On A Day Like Today’, which bombs commercially and vanishes off the charts without a whisper. It was a real shame, as most people missed out on one of the most refreshing, introspective, and melodic albums he has ever produced.”

1. Cloud Number Nine

“The ballad “Cloud Number Nine” enchants as a truly cute tune. This is a super album with so many good songs. This is one of Bryan Adams’ better albums. You can listen to it over and over. The studio version of “Cloud Number Nine” is infinitely better than the danced-up single release.”
