Perennial preview new album with explosive title track ‘Modernism’

New England trio Perennial have shared ‘Modernism’, the title track from their upcoming album of the same name, arriving 18 September via Safe Suburban Home.

The new single captures the band’s distinctive approach to guitar music, combining high-speed punk energy with vintage soul influences and experimental textures. While bursts of distorted guitars remain central to the track, Mellotron, drum machines and electric piano add an unexpected dimension, giving the song a colourful, unpredictable edge.

Serving as an introduction to the forthcoming record, ‘Modernism’ reflects Perennial’s ambition to stretch beyond traditional garage rock without sacrificing its urgency. The album promises ten tightly constructed tracks that draw inspiration from classic rock, soul and art-pop, distilled into the band’s characteristically concise style.

Renowned for their intense, short-form live performances, Perennial have built a reputation for packing maximum impact into every set. ‘Modernism’ continues that philosophy, delivering another energetic statement ahead of what looks set to be the band’s most expansive release yet.
