10. Long Forgotten Songs: B-sides & Covers 2000-2013 (2013)

“These are songs that he wrote and intended to use on previous albums, but just didn’t do it. Some of these songs are slow, some are pure rock. they do a few covers on this album as well. A couple that really stuck out to me was “The Ballad of Hollis Brown” it was originally by Bob Dylan. I’ve hard that Dylan is one of McIlrath’s big inspirations. The Rise Against version of this song is great, very melodic and beautiful.”

9. The Ghost Note Symphonies, Vol. 1 (2018)

“Just amazing. Rise Against delivers a punk-rock acoustic marvel with this one. Fantastic reinterpretation of their classic songs without removing the edge in their sound. If you love their music, this should be part of you collection, if you enjoy their hits, get this album as you’ll love every minute of it.”

8. Wolves (2017)

“Wolves accomplishes all that and more. The music is back baby! There are definitely musical themes across several songs, but it never feels overused or redundant. The mixing is great and the guitars and bass really feel like a return to Rise Against’s unique flavor of punk. Tim’s lyrics are as strong as ever, and so many of the choruses are such catchy anthems. Overall, RA has found its stride again and put out an album that makes me want to throw my fist in the air almost every song.”

7. The Black Market (2014)

“This album has a nice feel to it. The lyrics are creative and the instruments sound great on the MP3 version. The songs have a higher energy to them and there aren’t many slower songs. I put the album on when I’m working out lifting weights. The unique sound of the Rise Against vocals for whatever reason pumps me up and makes the workout more enjoyable. If you’re a fan of Rise Against you should definitely pick up this album, but if you’re considering this as your first purchase for the group, definitely buy it. You will enjoy it and not be disappointed.”

6. The Unraveling (2001)

“Melodic punkers Rise Against have come a long way in a short time. In only five years they have released three albums, their latest for major label Geffen. In the wake of their commercial success the band went back and remastered their first full-length, The Unraveling. Originally released in 2000, this is the Chicago four-piece at their hardest. With breakneck drum beats, shredding guitars and a penchant for singing-into-screeching vocals, it’s no wonder that Rise Against’s fanbase is as diverse as it is. With a foundation of punk and elements of metal, hardcore and the occasional touch of emo, there is no doubt that this band has a little something to offer everyone.”

5. Siren Song Of The Counter Culture (2004)

“This album is where they found their talent and what many people desire from them. It is the roots of the band that got them where they are now. This album contains the following hits: Give It All, Life Less Frightening, Swing Life Away.”

4. Revolutions Per Minute (2003)

“They’re one of those bands that just keeps putting out great albums and this guy is no exception. I’ve got to say, this is one of their older albums, but it’s pretty good. One thing I’ve noticed is that there is quite a bit more yelling in this album, not that that’s a bad thing.”

3. Endgame (2011)

“This album is absolutely fantastic. Rise Against is definitely one of the best bands today. Musically and lyrically they are fantastic and the vocals are wonderful. So just as an average listener, this is a great album. But if you’re smart, and aware of the problems with today’s society, then you are able to appreciate Rise Against on entirely different level. Really listen and think about the lyrics of this album and you will fall in love instantly.”

2. Appeal To Reason (2008)

“This album is their most melodic to date, and has strong Bad Religion influences in most of the tracks! Their is not as much screaming on this album, which is not a bad thing because Tim McIlrath has one of the best voices ever in the punk genre. Their is also not really any straight up hardcore songs as on the first few records. The album starts off with a bang(like all RA records) with Collapse(Post Amerika) which is a very fast punk song with very meaningful lyrics about the environment!”

1. The Sufferer & The Witness (2006)

“My favourite songs in this album was Injection, Prayers of the refugee, Drones and The good left undone. I think they all carry a really meaningful and strong message, have a really powerful verses and melody, and incredibly awesome choruses. There’s a lot of grunting or shouting in the song, so if you don’t like harsh vocal sound then this album is probably not for you.”
