Tommy Tutone Albums Ranked

Tommy Tutone is a power-pop band, known for its 1981 hit “867-5309/Jenny”, which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. They are an example to some of a one-hit-wonder, even though they did reach the Top 40 the year before with “Angel Say No.” In 2017 with the addition of Steve Fister (Steppenwolf, Lita Ford) on guitar, Jimmy James switched to drums and the band released the single “My Little Red Book”. Jim Keller went on to become the director of Philip Glass’s publishing company, Dunvagen Music Publishers.  He still performs in New York City. Here are all of Tommy Tutone albums ranked.

2. Tommy Tutone 2 (1981)

“This is a collection of songs from the first two tommy tutone albums. Jenny is a tremendous tune and a big hit but the rest of this collection is very good. Tom Heath has a distinctive rock n roll voice that really carries a tune. I bought this cd after having the vinyl when they first came out and I am glad I did. This band was definitely underrated and sounds even better now. If you are not too fond of what passes for a hit in today’s world, listen to this, be transported in time and enjoy great tunes. Baby it is more than alright but if listening while driving with Bernediah watch out for the shadow on the road ahead. Great collection.”

1. Tommy Tutone (1980)

“They had a rare talent and should have stayed together longer because their music is much, much better than the seemingly anonymous and androgynous “pretty boys” which seemed more concerned with their hair than with their music. Their guitars and vocals are faultless, and adding the meshing together of the drums and keyboards have you believing they had been together for many years. They don’t need the on stage antics of other bands, and they did not need it as their music is so introspective and different that it is almost, “stand alone.”
