15. Open My Eyes (Great Western Valkyrie, 2014)

“These guys got a Zeppelin vibe in many of there songs but remain original enough to be more than a copy. This cd in general is very good. I like rock. This song suited me well.”

14. Do Your Worst (Feral Roots, 2019)

“Awesome new track for all Rival Sons fans. And if you are not a fan give them a listen. You will quickly realize that you have been missing something your whole life…RS has yet to write a bad tune, plays from the heart and does not disappoint. Buy this track, then go back and buy everything else they put out in the past decade. You will thank me for it!”

13. Back in the Woods (Feral Roots, 2019)

“The performances are really great too and that’s one of the most driving factors behind the success of this record. The guitars are really fuzzy and just have such fantastic tones to them that really make this thing a sonic treat for the ears, and almost instrumentally so.”

12. Burn Down Los Angeles (Pressure & Time, 2011)

“Rival Sons is THE BEST BAND I’ve heard in a long, long time.I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who likes/loves,Zeppelin,Bad Co.,Badlands, and other like artists.ANYTHING Rival Sons is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!”

11. Hollow Bones, Pt. 1 (Hollow Bones, 2016)

“Each track resounds with their signature blues-rock sound accompanied by Jay Buchanan’s powerful vocals. Their style is reminiscent of legendary blues-rock from the late 60’s and early 70’s.”

10. Only One (Pressure & Time, 2011)

“This for me is the clear album highlight and lifts the quality to a higher level entirely. For the first time, there is a little light and shade and the use of the melody and the sparseness of the arrangement towards the end push the track into a bluesy Whitesnake or Bad Company sound.”

9. Belle Starr (Great Western Valkyrie, 2014)

“The album starts with the epic “Belle Starr”, which you can’t hear often enough to grasp its true greatness. Scott Holiday’s tear-inducing guitar playing effortlessly triumphs over the gravity of this planet.”

8. Electric Man (Great Western Valkyrie, 2014)

“What a powerful song, Rival Sons are a real tight act with an amazing singer. I think one of the best in the rock arena today.”

7. True (Head Down, 2012)

“I applaud a band that can have fun, start bringing you some of the best current riffs and then make a ballad as good as “True.”

6. Thundering Voices (Hollow Bones, 2016)

“Thundering Voices” with a strong Led Zep feeling and an unexpectedly melodic chorus. The ‘Hey, hey, hey-ooh’ screams from Buchanan will not be forgotten by anyone who has ever heard them.”

5. You Want to (Head Down, 2012)

“The album presents good ideas, the sound has energy, but the work as a whole is able to infect – something is missing, perhaps spontaneity -; with that, the hearing eventually loses fluidity and becomes tiring.”

4. Pressure and Time (Pressure & Time, 2011)

“Good to see some newer bands put out some great music instead of the same old copycat stuff that seems to be the norm since the late 90’s. I am a 70’s & 80’s hard rock/metal lover, but the late 90’s & most of the 2000’s so far have been weak with new rock. But this band is bringing it back!”

3. Rich and the Poor (Great Western Valkyrie, 2014)

“Here Jay Buchanans suddenly has this somewhat hoarse Jim Morrison timbre: ‘The rich and the poor, that’s how people behave / She said I’m gonna show you how babies are made’ he sings, and then comes this’ Oooh, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, oooooh ‘, that you never want to and will never forget in life An incredible number.”

2. Torture (Pressure & Time, 2011)

“Absolutely great rock song. The band and particularly the lead singer nailed this song. Checked out some of their other albums and they are great.”

1. Destination on Course (Great Western Valkyrie, 2014)

“Finally, seven minutes of “Destination on Course”, which is partly due to Ritchie Blackmore compositional and guitar style is reminiscent and is certainly not entirely unaffected by “Catch the Rainbow”, before Led Zeppelin finally got the upper hand again and a kind of Jimmy Page -live-on-stage-atmosphere brought home a bit ‘experimental’ brings. Simply great.”
