Strange Pink share searing new single ‘My Friend And You’
Blending chaos and camaraderie, Strange Pink’s ‘My Friend And You’ captures the strange intimacy of living through collapse.
Written during the haze of a post-lockdown world, the track fuses Thurston Moore-style riffing with a nervy, punk-laced urgency, as frontman Sam Forrest leans into lyrical surrealism à la Kim Gordon.
What began as a slower, more reflective piece was kicked into gear by drummer Dom Smith and bassist Eddie Alan Logie, resulting in a track that thrashes with noisy catharsis; part apocalypse anthem, part twisted love song. It’s Sonic Youth with Yorkshire grit.
