Superfriends preview debut album with heartfelt new single ‘Bug Bites’

UK indie outfit Superfriends have shared ‘Bug Bites’, the third and final single to arrive ahead of their long-awaited debut album King Of The Moths, due later this summer.

Originally formed by childhood friends Harry Atkinson and Jake Hughes after years spent watching bands tear through DIY venues, Superfriends have grown into a four-piece completed by Matt Johnson and Mark Riley. Following a run of singles, EPs and even a surprise appearance in a Netflix production, the band are now preparing to unveil their first full-length release.

Clocking in at just under two minutes, ‘Bug Bites’ packs shimmering guitars, vibrant synth textures and infectious melodies into an uplifting slice of power-pop. Beneath its bright, energetic exterior, the track reflects on the bittersweet reality of drifting apart from old friends, embracing new beginnings and recognising that while circumstances change, meaningful connections can endure.

Serving as the final taste of King Of The Moths, ‘Bug Bites’ highlights Superfriends’ knack for pairing irresistible hooks with thoughtful songwriting, building anticipation for an album that promises to capture both the exhilaration and emotional complexity of growing up.
