Thief descends into a world of beautiful darkness on haunting new single ‘Poison Drum’
LA experimental electronic project Thief ventures further into the shadows with ‘Poison Drum’, a mesmerising new single that showcases the extraordinary sonic imagination of multi-instrumentalist Dylan Neal.
Following the release of ‘Moon and Kill’, the track delivers a fascinating collision of industrial aggression, atmospheric electronics and unsettling rhythmic experimentation, creating an immersive listening experience that feels both sinister and strangely beautiful.
Drawing upon his background in experimental black metal with BOTANIST, Neal combines heavily manipulated synthesisers with cavernous reverberation and extreme distortion, developing an imposing soundscape that blurs the boundaries between electronic music and metal.
The single offers another compelling introduction to Thief’s forthcoming album, Sermons from the Pit, arriving November 27 via Prophecy Productions.
