Tiger Bear Wolf share new single ‘Wolf’ ahead of long-awaited third album

North Carolina rock outfit Tiger Bear Wolf have released ‘Wolf’, the latest preview of their forthcoming third album, arriving July 17th via Ernest Jenning Record Co.

The new single offers another glimpse into a record that has taken an unusually long and winding path to completion. Originally tracked in 2009 before being shelved due to technical setbacks and lost recordings, the album was eventually rescued years later when the original data was recovered against considerable odds. What followed was a lengthy process of revisiting, refining and completing the material across multiple locations and recording sessions.

Musically, ‘Wolf’ reflects the band’s long-standing fascination with adventurous song structures and classic rock influences. Inspired in part by the progressive spirit of 1970s outfit Captain Beyond, the track balances muscular riffs with a sense of movement and unpredictability, while its surreal lyrical premise adds another layer of intrigue.

Formed in Greensboro in 2002, Tiger Bear Wolf built a reputation through relentless touring and a sound that fused Southern rock, post-punk, psychedelia and hardcore influences. Their upcoming self-titled album serves as both a continuation of that story and the completion of a chapter that remained unfinished for more than a decade.
