Twisted Sister Songs Ranked

Twisted Sister was an American heavy metal band originally from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and later based in Long Island, New York. Twisted Sister’s best-known hits include “We’re Not Gonna Take It” from the movie Gung Ho and “I Wanna Rock”, which had music videos noted for their sense of slapstick humor. Although the band is sometimes regarded as glam metal due to its use of makeup, frontman Dee Snider considers the term to be inappropriate. Twisted Sister is also ranked No. 73 in VH1’s 100 greatest artists of hard rock. Here are all of Twisted Sister’s songs ranked.

15. Hot Love (Love Is for Suckers, 1987)

“It rocks out, builds up to the chorus, which you’re ready to scream along with, and then…”Hot love/you’re makin’ me crazy/hot love/you’re makin’ me mad…” Whoof!”

14. Feel the Power (You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll, 1983)

“Some of the bands true classics are on this album, and those are not the only good tracks to be found. In fact this album is a very solid piece of early heavy metal with a good dose of hard rock kind of riffing as well. “

13. Like a Knife in the Back (You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll, 1983)

“This song is really an excellent one. It is the kind of music that needs to be played on the radio. For those of you who are reading, I am writing a review for the song Like a Knife in the Back, which I downloaded on mp3. It really rounds out any collection of classic rock. This whole album is fantastic.”

12. Run for Your Life (Under the Blade, 1982)

“I love this song, reminds me of some people I knew when I was younger, but this song, is written and sung perfectly”

11. Destroyer (Under the Blade, 1982)

“An awesome song often overlooked by people who know We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock. I think the Under The Blade album is better than Stay Hungry. And I think of this song as the same as Black Sabbath’s Iron Man – and they’re both great songs.”

10. Stay Hungry (Stay Hungry, 1984)

“This song always makes me drop everything and pay attention. Still! A favorite song of mine in general Very underrated song.”

9. I Believe In You (Come Out and Play, 1985)

“All are perfect, but this is more, lyrics are carrying me through dark, solo is killing and I think I’m gonna cry. Power song great at metal from Twisted Sister.”

8. The Kids are Back (You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll, 1983)

“Vocals are brilliant and so is the guitar. The chorus is catchy and so full of energy! The never-say-die Twisted Sister rode the defiant “The Kids Are Back” to the top of the hard and heavy UK chart back in 1983. Ring-leader Dee Snider’s commanding vocals dominate the take charge track that was accompanied with a low-budget promotional video. “

7. Shoot ’em Down (Under the Blade, 1982)

“Great Song, It was written after Dee Snider Spoke to Angus Young and he told Dee.. if you wanna make a song that is easy access for everyone just take a simple 4/4 beat and kick ass.. so they did.”

6. Burn in Hell (Stay Hungry, 1984)

“This song deserves top three. Ever since I first heard it it’s always been my favourite Twisted Sister song. Horror-teria is the only song that comes anywhere near the awesomeness of this song in my mind”

5. You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll (You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll, 1983)

“You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll is an album for spotty adolescents, lacking in confidence, unsure of their future, feeling alone, unwanted, and misunderstood. Twisted Sister’s brand of streetwise rock exudes attitude and their anthemic, rabble-rousing lyrics are perfect fodder for disaffected youthful appetites. “Who are you to look down at what I believe?” begins the youth anthem “I Am (I’m Me)” and it’s a statement bound to hit their target audience straight in the gut. You have to admire the band for tapping into such a rich vein and playing it for all it was worth.”

4. The Price (Stay Hungry, 1984)

“One of the best power ballads and the most under-rated and ignored song… A must listen for every rock music fans… Awesome guitar riffs and an unbeatable vocals… Twisted sister for life”

3. Under the Blade (Under the Blade, 1982)

“A nice mix of heavy metal, glam metal and hard rock. It’s actually fun, that though the material on this album isn’t as “hard” as on the upcoming ones, this album contains some of the most heavy metal songs TS ever wrote. The more recent albums are more hard rock with heavy influences, as this one is the other way around.”

2. I Wanna Rock (Stay Hungry, 1984)

“Even though it’s lyrics are rather simplistic, their meaning is superb! The instrumentation is exactly as needed, badass guitars, bass and precise drums! This song is probably the real anthem of Rock & Roll, since it’s about the desire to break away, the desire to bang your head – I WANNA ROCK”

1. We’re Not Gonna Take It (Stay Hungry, 1984)

“This is the greatest song produced by Twisted Sister. The lyrics are so clear and catchy at the same time! I love it so much I like most of their songs but I think this one is the best”
