Velocity Made Good unleash controlled chaos on explosive new single ‘Reeling’
Dutch electronic-rock duo Velocity Made Good push their sound to exhilarating extremes with ‘Reeling’, a ferocious collision of industrial rhythms, distorted synthesisers and unrestrained creative energy that captures the band at their most adventurous.
Taken from their new EP Big Breakers, the single represents a defining moment in the duo’s transformation from electronic experimentalists into a fully fledged rock outfit.
From its fractured percussion and acid-drenched synthesiser arrangements to its relentless, pulsating bassline, ‘Reeling’ delivers an extraordinary sense of physical intensity. Refusing to follow conventional song structures, the track twists through unpredictable rhythmic changes, creating an immersive experience that feels simultaneously chaotic and exhilarating.
Produced alongside Josh Baxter of PVA, the recording embraces an uncompromising approach to sound, with analogue equipment pushed to its limits. One particularly powerful bass synthesiser even managed to destroy a preamp during the sessions.
Drawing inspiration from the thunderous rock of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, alongside the electronic experimentation of LCD Soundsystem and The Chemical Brothers, Velocity Made Good have developed a formidable musical identity that refuses to recognise traditional genre boundaries.
