Adema Songs Ranked

Adema is an American rock band from Bakersfield, California. The band formed in 2000 with members vocalist Mark Chavez, guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes. Ransom left the band in 2003 followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts between themselves and other members of the band. Luke Caraccioli replaced Chavez in early 2005 for one album, Planets, but then left a few months later in late 2005. Vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Faris, both from the band Level, were recruited to join as well, but only released one album, Kill the Headlights in 2007, before entering a hiatus. The band’s original lineup reformed in late 2009 and toured, but both Ransom and Chavez left again before any new music would be recorded. Fluckey took over lead vocals from 2011 to 2017. The lineup released an EP, Topple the Giants. In 2013 Ransom returned once again; Chavez rejoined the band again in March 2017, only to leave again in 2019. He was replaced by Ryan Shuck. Here are all of Adema’s songs ranked.

10. Remember (Planets, 2005)

“This is a song about Dave DeRoo’s (The bassist) mother. She passed away some time before the album was made and this song is probably a song about never letting her memory go and looking to make good on a bad situation”

9. Freaking Out (Adema, 2001)

“I really like this song. I think that there is a lot of people that can relate to it. I think it is about a man who is messed up on drugs and it’s breaking him down.”

8. Speculum (Adema, 2001)

“What I got from the song is that a guy found out that the girl he was with had an abortion without telling him she was and now he is feeling the loss of his child that will never be born. He constantly thinks about his unborn child and he is suffering from it.”

7. Unstable (Unstable, 2003)

“Unstable” is the first single from this album; I would have preferred either the opening track “Co-Dependent” or “Stand Up” (a lyrical attack on men that are physically abusive towards their wives/girlfriends) for the first single, but the title track is, needless to say, not a bad song. Interestingly enough, “Unstable” has not received too much radio airplay, and I feel that this is not because it is an awful song, by any means, but because Adema are not promoted enough and in the right ways”

6. Planets (Planets, 2005)

“The emotion in this song is so incredible. Planets is one of my favourite songs ever and comes very close to being in my top ten ever songs, and it also one of my favourite Adema songs, along with Giving In, Pain Inside, Close Friends, Promises, Immortal etc.”

5. Promises (Unstable, 2003)

“Promises” is the defining track to this album. It shows that Adema have a softer, more mellow side. The lyrics are mediocre though, and I think that Adema are more suited to their heavier style. I like this song though, because it is full of angst, and it’s pleasant to listen to.”

4. The Way You Like It (Adema, 2001)

“Best Song! The emotion in this song is amazing. Breathtaking song, breathtaking chorus. The guitar and piano in the song are so great,it takes it’s place as the best song from Adema”

3. Pain Inside (Adema, 2001)

“This song is about someone who is going through a lot emotionally and has very big issues (could be drug abuse, addictions) and all they are trying to do is learn how to deal with things but everyone around them is judging them and making them feel worse.”

2. Giving In (Adema, 2001)

“Its amazing! Best song, and so relateable! They are such talented artists! You will definifintly fall in love with this song when you hear it! I like how this song has a rock and slow song mentality to it. it makes a great combonation for a good song.”

1. Immortal (Unstable 2003)

“Amazing song. Pumps me up every time I listen this. Giving in is also good but this song is something else. Listening this is a must for every rock fan. It’s the best ever. Makes us feel immortal too.”
