Hellyeah Albums Ranked

Hellyeah, stylized as HELLYEAH, was an American heavy metal supergroup formed in Dallas, Texas, in 2006. The band’s last lineup consisted of lead vocalist Chad Gray, guitarists Christian Brady and Tom Maxwell, bassist Kyle Sanders, and drummer Roy Mayorga. The idea to form a supergroup originated in 2000 on the Tattoo the Earth tour, although plans were constantly put on hold due to scheduling conflicts. The summer of 2006 allowed the band to take the project seriously and record its first album. Recorded at Chasin’ Jason studio in Dimebag Darrell’s backyard, their self-titled album entered the Billboard 200 at number 9, selling 45,000 copies. They went on to release five more studio albums between 2010 and 2019. As of 2021, the band is on hiatus. Here are all of Hellyeah’s albums ranked.

6. Welcome Home

“Hellyeah is one of those bands that people do not like because of their past. While they have grown past the weird southern country party rock bullshit, It still is not a perfect sound. I used to really be into their last two albums but, Hellyeah is a band I have grown out of. This album has contributions from the late Vinnie Paul.”

5. Stampede

“This album has a little bit of mudvayne sneaking into a few songs on it. but one thing is for sure, this album is artistic, brutal, and melodic from intro to outro. It’s a bit heavier than the first album, and it has a few more slow songs on it but they still manage to keep the metal edge to it. you won’t be disappointed by this album.”

4. Hellyeah

“A great record. I’m a Mudvayne fan who thinks it’s cool to see Chad Gray lighten up for a change. Vinnie Paul drums with ultimate bad-assitude. This album has, as the title track states, “balls, volume, strength.” So getcha c’mon, baby! Excellent to album to party to. Support Hellyeah!”

3. Band Of Brothers

“I dont always drink, but when I do I get fucked up ’til I fall down. I can’t get enough of the Sam Kinison-ization that takes over the keg-tappin’ “Drink Drank Drunk”. The raging track from Hellyeah’s Band of Brothers disc is a face-down-in-the gutter party anthem. Play it a max volume and chase it with a shot of Jack.”

2. Unden!able

“Hellyeah returns with Unden!able after their triumphant blast into mainstream sound waves with Blood For Blood! Hellyeah is a very polarizing band these days. It started as far back as their release of Band of Brothers. A lot of people have an opinion on them, bad and good, luckily it seems a lot more people like them. Even so, according to Chad Gray on their new single ‘X’ it wouldn’t matter anyways.”

1. Blood For Blood

“Hellyeah’s fourth album, Blood for Blood, is a noticeably different affair to their first three albums. They’ve still got the same distinctive, aggressive groove metal sound (mostly), but there’s a newfound sense of maturity here. To be fair, that’s not that difficult considering most of the tracks on their first three albums were about drinking, partying, fighting and strippers.”
