7. the Ruby

“APRIL has returned with their 6th mini-album, The Ruby. This is my first time reviewing an APRIL album and I couldn’t pass the chance when I was very impressed with all the songs on the album.”

6. The Blue

The Blue Bird reminds of the April Story, in the sense, it (predominately) features an orchestral style instrumental. This return does bring them back to that mature sound which I liked with the earlier track. And while they did bring that back, they did manage to keep it from becoming too similar”

5. eternity

“April deserves more recognition, they are so talented. The setting of the MV, between school and nature, is really pretty and relaxing, but there is also something else at the end, a sign that things might change course to the unexpected?”

4. Dreaming

“I love how Somin’s voice stands out and her high note! Slay it girl! All the girls sound great together. This is definitely a great mini album! Im glad they are using the members’ good vocals to their full potential!

3. Spring

“With that out of the way, let’s talk about the music on this album, which is actually really good! I’m kind of sad that they chose “Tinker Bell” to be the title track considering that it’s the safest, blandest track on here, but one thing I have to commend this for is that they use a lot of strings throughout and yet at no point does it fall into the usual “contemporary R & B ballad” trap.”

2. Prelude

“This EP is really good! Although it’s really good to me in the way that Spring is, so I guess I kind of understand the low rating. It’s an improvement in that the worst track is significantly less grating than “Tinker Bell,” but it doesn’t quite reach the same heights.”

1. Da capo

LALALILALA opens with the ubiquitous streaming-era allusion to the chorus hook before retreating into the sparse first verse. The vocals and a solitary synth melody carry this section with little more than percussion clicks and shuffles. The ensuing pre-chorus fills out the sonic palette with warmth from the bass and piano. The beat subdivides with soaring vocals and drops out to highlight the most vibrant, sparkly sweep you’ve ever heard”
