Fresh Horses Songs Ranked
Fresh Horses is the seventh studio album by American country music artist Garth Brooks. It was released on November 21, 1995. Fresh Horses peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, and number one on the Top Country Albums chart. The album had a worldwide radio ban until it was available to buy. Only the two singles issued (“She’s Every Woman” and “The Fever”) were allowed to be played before this date, the latter of which was a new country-rock version of a 1993 Aerosmith song. In 2020 it was certified 8× Platinum by the RIAA, signifying 8 million copies shipped in the US, making it his only pre-Chris Gaines studio album to not be certified diamond or higher. Here are all of Fresh Horses songs ranked.

10. The Old Stuff
“The Old Stuff” is a reminiscence about life on the road “back when the old stuff was new,” and gives guitarists Chris Leuzinger and Gordon Kennedy some space to do a Silver Bullet Band-styled battle with Bobby Wood’s keyboard;”
9. Ireland
“Ireland” is completely different from typical Garth and one of my favorites. It showcases his versatility and musicianship. Garth is one of the greatest entertainers of all time. His cds range from good to so-so.”
8. Cowboys and Angels
“Garth Brooks is my all time favorite singer. I love ALL his work, but especially Fresh Horses. Many people (i have read) do not enjoy this cd. But i dont understand what there isn’t to enjoy”

7. She’s Every Woman
“This is one of my faviorte Garth cds probably because its not traditional. This cd may have not been a big seller for Garth, but he is diffently at his peak on this cd.”
6. The Fever
“The Fever”, originally written by Joe Perry and Steve Tyler of the rock band Aerosmith, was reworked by Garth into a song about a rodeo performer and features some solid fiddle breaks by Garth’s fiddle player, Jimmy Mattingly.”
5. It’s Midnight Cinderella
“I grew listening to a variety of music. This cd is in my opinion as underrated as it can get.Regardless of the fact that Garth Brooks rarely writes the songs by himself, these songs still are worth your listening time.”

4. That Ol’ Wind
“Garth’s well-performed story about two lovers getting back together after spending a long time apart. All in all, there are six ballads on Fresh Horses, and each one is well-written and well-done.”
3. The Beaches of Cheyenne
“The Beaches Of Cheyenne”, about a woman shattered by a sudden loss, is also a great song. Among Garth’s contributions to country has been the infusion of that old-time rock and roll spirit to Nashville’s age-old conventions.”
2. Rollin’
“Among Garth’s contributions to country has been the infusion of that old-time rock and roll spirit to Nashville’s age-old conventions. On FRESH HORSES, Brooks once again drinks from that fruitful well with memorable results. “Rollin’,” aportrait of a female trucker’s life on the road, is a hard-driving piece of honky-tonk with a vocal that’s pure Elvis.”
1. The Change
“The Change”. Perhaps the message here is that even when things are collapsing around us, if we have faith and hope and continue to reach out to others, “this world…will not change [us].”
