Hellkern Warriors tear through the night on new single ‘Rain, Steam and Speed’

Hellkern Warriors have wasted little time carving out a striking identity, and ‘Rain, Steam and Speed’ shows exactly why the international darkwave/gothic-rock project has been gathering momentum so quickly. Built by musicians spread across Germany, Italy and Colombia, the track feels like a collision of cities, machines and midnight anxiety, all pushed forward with relentless force.

From the opening moments, ‘Rain, Steam and Speed’ locks into a driving, cinematic pulse. The guitars grind with industrial weight, the synths glow with cold menace, and the rhythm section keeps everything moving like a train tearing through a storm. It’s dark, dramatic and intensely physical, but never aimless. Beneath the heaviness, there is a clear melodic instinct that keeps the song accessible even as it leans into gothic atmosphere and mechanical tension.

Tom Radar’s vocal delivery gives the track much of its character. He sounds like someone caught inside the world the band has created, moving through shadows, motion and threat with conviction. Around him, Dylan Phoenix’s synth work adds a brooding, almost film-score quality, while Fabian Parra’s bass and Mauricio Castro’s drums provide the muscular foundation that makes the track hit with such impact.

But what makes the single especially effective is its sense of movement. The title feels perfectly chosen, capturing the mixture of weather, machinery and velocity that defines the song’s atmosphere. This is gothic alt-rock with a strong visual imagination, built for headphones, late-night drives and smoke-filled club floors alike.

For a project formed only recently, Hellkern Warriors already sound remarkably assured. ‘Rain, Steam and Speed’ is heavy, atmospheric and sharply produced, with enough momentum to prove this band’s international attention is no accident.
