Sugarland Albums Ranked

Sugarland is an American country music duo founded in Atlanta, Georgia. The duo consists of singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles (lead vocals) and Kristian Bush (vocals, guitar, mandolin). They were founded in 2002, at which point Kristen Hall (vocals, guitar) was also a member. All three had experience in folk rock: Nettles had recorded in the groups Soul Miner’s Daughter and Jennifer Nettles Band, Bush had recorded two albums as one-half of the duo Billy Pilgrim, and Hall had recorded two solo albums. After Hall left in 2006, Nettles and Bush continued as a duo. Signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2004, Sugarland recorded four studio albums, one Christmas album, and one live album for that label between then and 2010. The duo went on hiatus in 2012, during which time both Nettles and Bush recorded solo albums. They reunited officially in 2017 for Bigger, a studio album issued on Big Machine Records. Here are all of Sugarland albums ranked.

5. Bigger

“I am always impressed with Sugarland’s sound with Jennifer Nettle’s vocals and Kristian Bush on vocals and guitar. I’m glad they released another CD and will be looking towards the next one. Until then, this one will be on repeat. The songs range from upbeat and fun to meaningful with important messages. This soundtrack is on constant repeat in my head. Sugarland doesn’t produce a bad CD or song. If you like Sugarland at all, you’ll love this album.”

4. Twice The Speed Of Life

“This album has great energy, great vocals, great guitar and that kind of Southern boogie that was immortalized by Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett, 38 Special. Don’t be fooled though; the instrumentation is much more acoustic than those bands. There is a lot of fiddle, steel guitar, and even some mandolin. The thing I like the most are the lead vocals. Great attitude; this lady is strong and a survivor.”

3. The Incredible Machine

“Compared with Sugarland’s previous works, this album is less “pure” country (though Sugarland has never been one to be shoehorned into the classic “country” genre anyway) and more of a surprisingly good mix of rock and pop, but still with a healthy dollop of Nettles’ beautiful southern twang and Sugarland’s usual mix of gorgeous instrumentals and dynamic musical style. “

2. Enjoy The Ride

“I love this duo! I’ve always loved country music, but never cared for singers with a twang. Jennifer Nettles is the exception … her voice has amazing strength and purity that give her a soulful sound. Kristian Bush is a perfect complement to her with his strong musicality and supporting vocals. They don’t just play music and sing, they tell stories with their music. I love this album for its variety. It’s full of fun and heartbreak, sadness and triumph.”

1. Love On The Inside

“This album has been put onto my itunes, and hasn’t left the top ten since! It’s full of those great hooks, and beautiful melodies that made Sugarland the band they are today. The extra tracks are worth the dollars, as they are brilliant! On the hit song “All I wanna do”, they sing about just spending the day alone with the one they love, and on “We Run”, and “Already Gone” (another hit single),Jennifer Nettles sings of young love, and all the feelings that go with that. On the “Very Last Country Song”, Nettles sings about how if we didn’t fall out of love, or lose our way home, there would be no more country songs.”
