10. 10,000 Days (Tool)

“Although certainly not the acid-trippy lyrical masterpiece Lateralus, 10,000 Days delivers on the heavy side of Tool we saw back in Ænima. Pieces like “Vicarious”, “Jambi” and “The Pot” are the signature tracks of the album, ridden with amazing solos and very interesting ideas inside of their lyrics. The Wings Duo (Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days) deliver a stunning tale of a combination of Christian ideas (atheists beware lmao) in play with the life of a beloved one.”

9. Sam’s Town (The Killers)

“This is easily their best album for me (though Hot Fuss is certainly wonderful). Brandon’s vocals and lyrics are excellent on this album and in my opinion an improvement from Hot Fuss. He’s definitely matured as a vocalist and songwriter. The rest of the band is top-notch.”

8. Stadium Arcadium (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

“Red Hot Chili Peppers’ most ambitious album and one of the greatest double albums of all time, alongside Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ and The Beatles’ ‘White Album’. It also perfectly captures similar energy to that of the band’s live performances, as well as their eclectic nature.”

7. Donuts (J Dilla)

“Doughnuts is that album that will cause you to mentally identify, not only where you were in your life; but will conjure the emotion that you felt when you heard it initially. J.Dilla was one of the most prolific Dj’s that not only created his own signature style but also created many classic song’s for today mega artist in hip-hop.”

6. The Black Parade (My Chemical Romance)

This album is interesting from start to finish. There isn’t a dull moment on the entire project. Every track has something unique that makes it stand out from the other tracks, yet it all flows naturally and feels coherent.”

4. Back To Black (Amy Winehouse)

“A great album. Amy was a great jazz singer. Her big hit “Rehab” led many to believe that was all she was about. The songs she wrote & sings on this album are beautiful, sad poems, amazing melodies & her voice, THAT VOICE.. it was so easy for Amy to sing; her range, control & powerful vocals were effortless. Amy loved Billy Holiday & the girl group singers of the 1960s, you can hear their influence in this album.”

3. Black Holes And Revelations (Muse)

“Elements of electronic music, catchy riffs, and lyrics that transcend all others. Muse defined their own sound with this album balancing all their styles into one album. This is diverse and cohesive simultaneously. Muse is known for their lyrical matter and this album is no stranger to their well-known concepts. A must listen!”

2. Ys (Joanna Newsom)

“The music zeitgeist has seen its fair share of luminous storytellers but few vividly beseech their audience to partake in their free-flowing whimsy like balladeer-extraordinaire Joanna Newsom. Yet, when discussions of this generation’s most profound creators, her name seems to reside on the periphery. This is an unspeakable injustice.”

1. Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not (Arctic Monkeys)

“Great songs and a great album. Something like this I hear with pleasure. I gave this album a good rating because of the rock melody of all songs I like. Best songs: The view from the afternoon, I Bet you look good on the Dancefloor, Dancing Shoes, Riot Van, Red Light indicates Doors are Secured, A Certain Romance”
