This Is Country Music Songs Ranked
This Is Country Music is the eighth studio album by American country music artist Brad Paisley. The album was originally scheduled to be released April 19, but was pushed back to May 23, 2011 by recording label Arista Nashville. This Is Country Music debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200, and sold 153,000 copies in the first week of release. Keith Caulfield with Billboard magazine noted that Paisley was at a disadvantage releasing the album the same week as Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which was expected to sell up to one million copies. Caulfield stated, “With all this talk about Gaga, you’ve got to feel a little bad for country superstar Brad Paisley, whose This Is Country Music album will likely debut in the runner-up slot next week with maybe 150,000 copies sold. Paisley has yet to earn a No. 1 album — after six top 10s, two of which hit No. 2. (Had his new album come a week earlier, perhaps he could have secured his first No. 1.)” As of November 23, 2011, the album has sold 561,000 copies in the US. 10. Remind Me
“One reason why Paisley excels as a songwriter is that he doesn’t resign himself to singing the vanilla “I love you and I need you” songs. Rather, when he describes about the need to keep his connubial bliss alive, he does it by giving us so many practical ways in the power duet with Carrie Underwood “Remind Me.”
9. Old Alabama
“Brad paisley is a cool guy. Its a good cd, just like all of his other cds. I don’t think its the best country cd out there but he doesn’t seem to get the credit for everything he does do.”
8. Toothbrush
“This is another incredible work by Brad Paisley who gets better with age. Everything he touches turns to gold. He is as good as…dare I say it…George Strait, who until Brad come along had no one even come close to the caliber of his music, in my opinion.”

7. This Is Country Music
“There are a couple of odes to country music per sec. Not the most original in its concept, the title cut and lead single “This is Country Music” is stacked with many other songs that tries to give definition to the genre. It’s not bad just not one of Paisley’s best.”
6. Be the Lake
“The lyrics to his songs have a nice imagery to convey. But the true quality in his music is in his voice, which truly brings that imagery to life. I have listened to many of his songs, and find the lyrics played repeatedly in my head.”
5. Love Her Like She’s Leavin’
“Expanding his scope of duet partners to Don Henley, on “Love Her Like She’s Living” Paisley sits on the Dr. Love seat in diagnosing how to make love last.”

4. A Man Don’t Have to Die
“On the spiritual invigorating “A Man Don’t Have to Die,” Paisley puts his finger on our society’s problem: how our souls erode without Jesus. This is soul piercing stuff done in a way that is engaging without sounding judgmental.”
3. One of Those Lives
” To music fans who want to look into country music but never have taken the leap, this album is a great place to start. You will not regret. Even after many, consecutive plays, it continues to be a great joy to listen.”
2. Working on a Tan
“Though Paisley has often been noted for the humor in his music, but often they are jocular because they are social burlesques. “Working on a Tan,” for instance, is a satire of how people have become so obsessed with their bodies that they would go to the extremes to look “tanned.””
1. Camouflage
” With the call and response chorus and some delightful piano riffs, “Camouflage” deals with the issue of self image amidst its party sonic backings. If you love classic country, this is an amazing display of the best of the classic country sound. If your not the biggest fan of the twang that is associated with classic country, you may be better off with some of his older albums.”
