6. The Things We Can’t Stop

“This is definitely a calmer and more subdued Cold album. In my opinion that’s not a bad thing at all. My tastes since high school have mellowed and diversified. So I like the change. The songs themselves are pretty solid. I’m pretty fond of “Snowblind”, “Run”, and “Quiet Now”. I guess my biggest gripe would be that it is a bit polished and over produced. But other than that I think it’s a good addition to their catalog.”

5. Superfiction

“I feel rather compelled to defend this album a little bit. People seem to not like it that much, which is fine. But I think it is a rather good album from these guys. I like it a bit better than their last album. The songs seem more differentiated and I was able to immediately able to pick out ones that stood out more, whereas the last album took me a while to get into and to discern the songs from each other.”

4. Cold

“First album I listen to by Cold is pretty amazing by the band. the self-titled album is pretty much brings the later part of the 90s. After I listen to Insane, I was like this is one of the best metal albums I have heard. I have to recommend this album to anybody. The raw music brings out the vibe in my veins to hear this awesome album.”

3. A Different Kind Of Pain

“I love this album, although very sad because of the story behind it, i think Cold had a successful follow-up to Year Of The Spider. This is my favorite Cold album. I don’t like ” Tell Me Why, Ocean ” but those are two songs and the rest are amazing. Genius!”

2. 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage

“The production of this album is far superior to their similarly excellent self-titled debut album, it is a far more polished effort although this does mean Ward’s voice loses some of it’s impact, but the quality of material on here is brilliant. This was the last truly heavy album the group were to release.”

1. Year Of The Spider

“Simply dripping with melody and melancholy for the most part. The anguish in songs like Suffocate and Don’t Belong is instantly believable. Wasted Years is memorable balad with a plucked guitar intro and a simmering chorus. Whatever You Became, Sad Happy and Rain Song are mid-paced numbers that rely too heavily on their anthemic coruses to become etched in your mind. The Day seattle Died is a clumsy take on Kurt Cobain’s suicide. The album closer, Kill the Music Industry is quite abysmal.”
